Raising The Minimum Wage

Just recently, about a week ago, Barack Obama proposed a plan to raise the minimum wage from 7.25 to 9 dollars an hour.  As you can see in this political cartoon, Obama's minimum wage increase is being advertised as a type of prescribed medicine. This is somewhat a comparison between a doctor and Barack Obama. A doctor prescribes medicines and drugs to save patients from their illness; in comparison, Barack raises the minimum wage to save his people from poverty.
Moreover, like all drugs there are some kinds of side effect along with it. As shown, Obama's Minimum Wage Increase may kill jobs, weaken the economy, and increase poverty and government dependency. This is actually ironic because these effects are the exact opposite of Obama's thought of an outcome. He finds more positive effects out of making the minimum wage $9/hour than what the medicine bottle has displayed.
I personally believe that Barack's proposal of raising the minimum wage is a great idea. It will help people who are currently working full time take a step out of poverty. There shouldn't be any reason why a person who work a full time job receiving minimum wage of 7.25 but yet still struggle with their expenses. By Barack's plan of increasing the minimum wage to 9, it will give citizens more opportunities and monies to buy things they desire as well as need. I salute Obama for this proposal and disagree with this political cartoon.
